Members have received phone calls from a company called Bank Freedom, claiming that the member‘s Master Card has been compromised. This company will then ask you to provide additional information.
DO NOT provide them with any information. When the Credit Union fraud department calls regarding suspicious activity on your account, they will verify information about the transaction and may only ask you to verify the last four numbers of your SSN. Be aware of the information you provide over the phone to callers with whom you are not familiar. Never provide anything like a birthday, full SSN, address, etc.

Please be aware:
The credit union’s ATM and VISA fraud departments will never text you. You will receive a call, fax or email from the Fraud department. Currently, there is a scam where you will receive a text message requesting you call a 434 area coded number. Visa and ATM use toll free numbers only. When in doubt use the 800 number on the back of your ATM or VISA card or call the credit union during our normal business hours. We will be happy to research this for you.
Important: DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION WITHOUT VERIFICATION.
