Several HBCECU members have reported receiving letters claiming that their loan rates are scheduled to increase, when in fact, they are not.  The letters are a blatant attempt to scare members into refinancing their existing loans with some other company.  Do not confuse these letters with any official HBCECU correspondence.  Always be wary of any offers you receive in the mail.  Some of the mortgage companies that have suffered losses in the past few months are getting desperate for your business and will say anything to convince you to refinance your loans.  Stick with the people you can trust at the HBCECU!
